Changing Articulate Logo Resizes Screen

May 14, 2012

Hi,

I am having some difficulty working out how to get my logo onto the lower left hand side (replacing the Articulate logo). I have followed all the instructions from the tutorial, however, when once I have entered all the information and launched the course to view, not only is my logo not there (but the Articulate one is gone) but the image within my browser has grown by about 20% and does not provide me with a scroll bar to scroll down.

I have read the advice given on this page http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/5371/29488.aspx#29488

however I am unclear as to what AS2 is let alone how to use it. I made my logo using Snagit, but have no idea how to use it properly. I have simply print screened the logo, cropped it and saved it as a .swf file. It is not very big so I do not understand why there is an issue.

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Tessa!

Can you send us your files so we can take a closer look? If so, please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I have an additional question concerning something completely different now!

How do I send my published version to someone so they can view it? I do not want them to be able to edit it or have it open in PowerPoint, I just want the finished product to come up on their browser.

I have tried zipping and emailing the file, but this does not seem to work.

Thanks

Hey Tessa!

If you want others to view your published Articulate content but don't have a web server, one quick way to share your course is to sign up for a free Dropbox account.

Then upload your published content to the Public folder in your Dropbox account as demonstrated in this video screencast.

Or, publish directly to your Dropbox\Public folder as demonstrated in this video screencast.

Hope that's helpful!

Thanks very much!

So back to my logo issue, how exactly do I create a logo with Snagit? The tutorial did not go into detail about this, but it is difficult to ensure my logo meets Articulate's requirements if I am not even sure how to create it properly. I have a standard .jpeg image that I wish to use and all I did was copy that into Snagit and then save it as a .swf file. Is this the incorrect method to creating a compatible .swf?

Thanks

Hi Tessa!

Hmm, I'm not seeing any record of a case or files from you. Were you given a case number? If not, it's possible the submission didn't go through. If you have a case number, I'll happily look into it personally. Otherwise please try submitting a ticket again, and let me know when you receive your case number. Thanks, and sorry for the confusion

RIght, as using Snagit to make a .swf file has not worked I have downloaded Adobe Professional to try and make a .swf file. I have looked at your flash file best practices in order to make sure the file meets them but I clearly must still be doing something wrong as even though the screen no longer resizes, my logo still does not appear.

As I have NO idea as to how to use Professional all I have done is open the .jpeg file of my logo in Professional, and then changed the setting to meet best practices. My issue may be that as it says, you need at least 2 frames to make it work however, the Professional help guide is over complicated and I do not know how to make a my logo into a flash movie and 'add a frame'. When simply leaving it as it is the logo does not appear in the bottom corner.

So I added a 'motion' (zoom-in 2D) which brought it up to 50 frames. However, this did not solve the problem and my logo still does not appear in the bottom corner.

Frankly, all I need is a step by step guide as to how to take my .jpeg logo image and make it into a .swf file that will work with Articulate using Adobe Professional or whatever program that works. The Adobe help pages are not very helpful and as I am not very computer savvy, it's instructions are mostly gargon to me. SO if you could please just spell out for me exactly what I need to do to make this work I would be most grateful.

Thanks
