Completed courses not showing as complete

Oct 18, 2013

Has anyone had any issues with courses not "completing" in their LMS?  For instance, some employees have reported fully and successfully completed some courses and that course not dropping off from their "to-do" list and still remains as showing it hasn't been completed.  Thanks!

Hi Jeremy,

Is it possible that your users are accessing the course in Internet Explorer 9? There are some known tracking issues there, and two solutions provided in  this link.

Also, you may want to review this blog post about troubleshooting common LMS issues, and specifically test the course with SCORM Cloud to see if you're able to replicate the tracking problem. If you're not able to replicate it within SCORM Cloud, you'll want to share those results with your LMS team.

All of our employees use IE 8, but that is good to know about IE 9.  Are there plans for fixing the issues with IE 9?  What would I be looking for when running my course through SCORM cloud.  When I have in the past, it seemed as though things worked, but I wasn't sure what to look at to know for sure if this was true or not.  I've read the other posts about troubleshooting and attempted to do so, but issues still seem to occur periodically.  Thanks!

Hi Jeremy,

The issue with IE9 as referenced in the previous article, are things that Articulate doesn't have control over in terms of if your LMS supports the tracking within IE9.

When you test your course in SCORM Cloud, you're testing that everything behaves as expected - so for example, since your users are reporting that they completed the course but the LMS doesn't track that correctly - see if those same users are able to take the SCORM Cloud version and it shows them as having completed. If it's an intermittent issue, I'd also suggest is to find out under what conditions each of these users is accessing the course (browser, flash version, etc.) and see if there are any commonalities there that may be contributing. One site someone shared here recently is http://supportdetails.com/ which pulls all the users information and they can have it emailed to you (works for users who may not know how to determine what version they're on...).
