Completion Status not tracking in LMS in IE8

Sep 27, 2013

I'm publishing a Quizzmaker Quiz embedded in a Presenter presentation. I need to track completion status (Complete or Incomplete) and the learner's score. I'm using Cornerstone on Demand. I have tried publishing to SCORM 1.2 with Reporting set to Complete/Incomplete and Tracking set to track by quiz results. It tracks completion and score if the learner passes, but does not track completion if the learner fails. I am using a Finish button in the Quiz with it set to Close the window.

I've taken a look at all the posts related to Cornerstone but don't see any that relate to my specific issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Tara and welcome to Heroes!

Have you reviewed this article on troubleshooting common LMS issues, specifically the heading on testing it within SCORM Cloud? I'd start there and see if the tracking is working as expected in Scorm cloud, and use that to connect with your LMS team.

Additionally, you may want to connect with the folks in this thread (I know it's about Storyline - but they all are focused on Cornerstone as well).

Hello Tara,

Your scenario actually sounds like it's doing what it's designed to do.  You've configured the course to send a Completion status once the user passes the quiz.  If they user didn't pass the quiz, the course doesn't send the command to change the course status.

But I could be reading your question wrong...is your scenario that users who fail don't get their attempt recorded? e.g. If a user scores a 50/100%, CSOD is not recording the 50%. . . the number of attempts in the Transcript Detail on Cornerstone not incrementing either?

Hi Todd,

This thread is a bit older, and I am not certain if Tara or Minh are still subscribed. Did you already review the troubleshooting information I mentioned at the beginning in regards to SCORM Cloud? If everything behaves normally there, you'll want to reach out to your CSOD team - and you may also want to look into this thread on Cornerstone which continues to grow since previously shared.
