Course Updates

Scenario: I assign an online course to a student. The student completes the course. Then I make an update to the course. The student returns to the course to review it. Will the student see the updates that were made to the course, or is he still viewing the course version that was active when the course was originally assigned to him?

Welcome to Heroes, Cathy!
The student should see the new updated course. If they're not, it's most likely a cache issue with the browser or server. Another thing you'll want to keep in mind, is if you update (overwrite) existing course files in your LMS or web server, users who had previously started the course will not resume where they left off. You can learn more about that here.
Hope that's helpful.
Hi Peter,
Our courses actually DO resume where left off even when I update courses - odd huh? I remember authoritatively telling people that no, it will go back to the beginning, when it went and proved me wrong. I update courses quite frequently, but it's usually quite minor details, and then re-upload them with the same file name to our LMS. Maybe it's our LMS?
Anyway, just wanted to share that
Cheers,
Sarah.
