I need to email a PowerPoint and it's too large 23MB... we can only email 5MB. I've removed all of the audio but the file is still too large ... it's only 22 slides.
Have you done a save as, and checked to make sure that it's no longer attached to a .ppta file as that's where all the Presenter features are stored? You could also follow the steps here to import it into a new file, and as you'll see noted the Presenter resources would have to be inserted again.
Thank you all! I did break the link to the ppta file AND compressed the images but the zipped file was still too big for the recipient's server to "#550 5.3.4 ROUTING.SizeLimit; message size exceeds fixed maximum size for route ##"
Our security policies won't allow the use of Dropbox or Google Drive. I know... dilemma!

I have this problem often. Normally if I compress the images, the file size is reduced dramatically.
Good recommendation Karen - and brings up another point. Within the publish settings you can choose to change the output quality as shown here:

Thank you for your suggestions!

Sorry there isn't more to offer Sonya - maybe publish a copy to Word for them to look at? Or publish to web and place on a temporary server?
