Do you think it's a good idea to use Activex Controls in Presenter

I want to have scrollable text windows in presenter. I find, from some powerpoint help sites, that you can do this in powerpoint using enabled activex controls. http://smallbusiness.chron.com/create-scrollable-text-box-powerpoint-50247.html
I had all sorts of problems with my Trainersoft programs because of activex controls that my students browsers wouldn't allow, or my students security settings were supressed to the point where they wouldn't even get a prompt to allow an activex control to run.
So my wary of this in Articulate. So, two questions:
(1) What do you think of activex controls in Articulate software
(2) Is there another way to get a scrollable text box in Presenter 13?
Thanks, as always.
Jim
