I needed to downgrade Articulate Presenter from 2013 to 2009 due to some technical problems. This downgrade instruction was given by Articulate tech support. However during previewing, it seems the presenter files created by version 2013 are not readable under a lower version 2009.
This is expected behaviour - most software programs are not backward compatible. If you had created the presentation in 09 you would be able to open it in '13 but not the other way around.
The audio files need to be exported from the Presenter files which were originally created by Presenter 2013.
You can install a trial version of Presenter in the other computer to perform the exporting.
Next step, importing the audio files into the project by using Presenter 2009.
No matter what will happen during a project production, backup the Presenter original files including .ppta is necessary, especially for upgrading and downgrading Articulate Studio.

Good luck!
