I have a callout that I made in Flash. It's a small ring that flashes around a pointer as shown below. However, what's you're seeing below is what the callout looks like after opening the Outline view. The resizing of the course to show the outline causes the swf file to resize to the below. Is it possible to lock the size of the swf so it does not resize?
This is normally an IE issue, normally happens when you resize the swf in articulate. best solution is to size the swf to the size you need and do not resize in Studio.
The problem is also happening because you are changes slide size
Actually, I got it to work. My next issue is that my transparent animation seems to have some serious quality issues. The edges are not smooth and I have everything set to highest quality. You can see the jagged edges in my previous image from the first post.
We used bitmap smoothing on our flash files, although that looks like a vector and if so ignore my last comment. I hate quoting KB articles but here are the best practices http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=76
I think it's definitely Articulate that's making it look bad. Not sure what my options are.
I know my flash movie is 57x59, however, when Imported into Articulate Presenter, it automatically makes it larger. Take a peek... The first image is the size when first imported into PPT. The second image is the correct size of the original flash movie.
Hey James- Can you share your .psd and .fla animation files so we can take a look at it? I work a lot in PS, Flash and Articulate and haven't seen many cases where I couldn't get the quality I wanted. I'd like to see what you're working with and hopefully share some options.
Yes, I did get a chance to look at it and I think I see what's going on. I put together a quick Screenr to walk through my troubleshooting process.
The issue is likely caused by resizing graphics in Flash. That's been a long-standing "no-no" in Flash For whatever reason, Flash doesn't handle bitmap resizing too well. If you resize your graphic in Photoshop > export to png > import to Flash you'll see a big improvement.
The other thing you can do is set your object's quality settings to lossless gif/png and not use the default photo jpg settings. That will also make a big difference.
I hope that helps but please let me know if you're still not seeing the quality you expected.

Yes, this is a custom shape I exported from Photoshop.

Sure David! Thanks!
I don't have the PSD though. I can make one real quick if needed. I didn't save a PSD because it was such a simple circle.
David, I actually still had the PSD open from yesterday. Here it is...
David, any luck with the files? I totally understand if you haven't had a moment to look at them.
