Flash sizing issues for users viewing course in BB Vista

Sep 09, 2011

Hi All,

Nice to have joined the forum. Hopefully I can help in return. Right now, thought, I'm at the pulling my hair out stage of an issue my coworkers are having when they view course.

Here it is in a nutshell:

1. I used Captivate 4 to create splashscreen. Then opened Articulate Presnter (I do not have engage) and added Flash movie blank layout slide in PPT 2007. Published and it looks great. OF course, there is no sidebar.

2. All similar swfs created in Captivate are set to display in the slide. I have now uploaded so many renditions with diff settings (notated all of them) to Blackboard Vista that it'd take forever to list.

Here is my main issue. Coworkers at university campus open course in Blackboard and all flash files created in Captivate that display in slide with navigation sidebar created by Artiulate Presenter are NOT staying the correct size. They are large and so learner cannot see entire screen. However, they look great on my end.

I tried updating with Articulate Flash 10 updater thingy and nothing happened.

I am linking to player file from course homepage within Blackboard.

Oh please help! I inturn will let you know if any of the 3 diff mock courses I'm having them review now work. I've tried launching course on separate page. Fiddled with locking down size or leting it scale to fill browser.

The only diff I can think of between the splash page and the rest of the swfs is this. In captivate, I set the size of screen when creating splash page. In remainder of swfs, I imported PPT files to the Captivate Project. The PPT is set at 4:3 and is 7.5 high and 10 wide.

Thanks in advance.

Michele
