FLV video won't play

Aug 27, 2013

Hi there,

I'm using Presenter '09 and have several FLV video files in the courses I've created for my client. Two of the courses with video were published about a year ago, and I just added a new course with a new FLV file. This new file will not play - the audio plays but the video is simply blank. All of the other video files still play fine. I can't find anything in the file itself, and it actually plays fine on my computer and other computers that are connected to the internet. For my client's use, the Courses are all published to CD and then installed on laptops (they don't have access to internet).

Has anyone ever run into this - some FLV files playing fine, and then a new one not showing up?

Hi Pam,

How are you viewing this video, during preview, publish? If you've published, make sure you're not viewing the published output locally. If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published.
Please review this article for additional information.
Since you're able to play it outside of Presenter, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the FLV video itself, so if you'd like share the Presenter file and video with our team we can also take a look. You'll need to follow these directions to package your Presenter files.
