Help Please with Audio Importer

Oct 11, 2012

Audio Importer is taking forever to import an MP3 file or a 16 Bit WAV file. When it seems to have done this successfully, no files are showing up in the narration folder after publishing, and no narration is accompanying the slides when played.  Can anyone help me know what I am doing incorrectly or if you've experienced these issues with Audio Import?

If you are referring to Audio Import, I recommend using Audio Editor instead to import your audio. Open that item in the Articulate ribbon/menu, then click on the slide for which you wish to import each audio file.

Several reasons:

1. Using Audio Import will hard-code the audio flle to the EXACT directory structure. If you open the PowerPoint file in another location/machine, you will most-likely lose the reference to those audio files. I won't argue whether this is right or wrong, it just is.

2. Using Edit Audio will include the audio files in the PPTA file and allow you to open the Articulate package elsewhere. You should retain the reference to the audio files.

3. Using Edit Audio allows you to sync on-click animations by simply dragging the animation "instance" to the desired point in the audio file.

As for speed of import, are the audio files on your local machine or are you downloading remotely?
