Articulate Conversion to Scorm Failing Mid Conversion

Jan 08, 2013

I have a PPT file that is 70 slides, over 3 MB and I used the articulate audio importer tool to import audio for 69 of the 70 slides. The file conversion keeps failing around slide 50 with no error message or explanation to the fail. It just stops converting and brings back up the PPT/articulate window.

Any ideas? rebooted computer and it still is doing it. checked the memory on the computer and thats not it either. tried converting another PPT with audio that is a little smaller and had no problems!

HELP!

Hi Erica. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with this. I noticed you mention that it fails around slide 50. What type of content is on that slide?

Also, please make sure that you're working with only local files. If you try to edit, publish or view content on a network drive, USB drive, or any other external sources you may run into some strange behavior.

Here's some more information about working with local files:

If you are experiencing unexpected issues using Articulate software, here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.

1.  Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

3.  Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
