How Articulate treats slides numbered "0"

May 29, 2013

I just learned that PowerPoint 2010 allows for a zero number on a slide. My company's template designers have decided to make the title slide zero.  So when I download a template for creating a presentation I'm going to Articulate, I've found in Slide Properties, it's only recognizing slides numbered 1 or higher.  It does recognize that the whole presentation is X number of slides so it's duplicating the last slide...  Any ideas how to get around this issue?

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Jodi!

I was able to find an archived post on this topic, if you'd like to take a look:

Slide zero off by one dilemma

Not sure if this would work for you, but you could hide the slide numbers and then name the slide so it appears to be a "0" slide number.

Here's how to remove the slide numbers from the player:

Remove slide numbers from the Outline or navigation tabs

After you've disabled the numbering, you can place your own slide numbers in the title for the slides. To do this, click on "Slide Properties". In this window, you can click into the "Navigation Title" area and modify how the title appears. So, if you want to, you could make the title "0 - Starting Slide", etc.

I hope this helps!

Thanks and good luck with the project,

Christine
