How to make a second version of a course

Jul 07, 2017

I have a question about articulate. I need to revise a course, I used Articulate software for the course, but I am not sure which version maybe 2009. I want to keep the original version and make a version 2 of the same course. How do I do this? I have done this before but cannot remember and I need to make sure I do not alter version 1 of the course.

Hello Clare, it's fairly easy to do.

First, open the presentation in PowerPoint. Then under File, choose "Save As" and give the presentation a new name. You'll have two versions, each with their own PowerPoint and PPTA files. These can stay in the same folder, unless you have Engage interactions or Quizmaker quizzes.

If you have Engage Interactions or Quizmaker quizzes, you'll need to take additional steps.

Make a new folder, then move your newly-named PowerPoint and PPTA files into into it. Then COPY your Engage interactions and quizzes to the new folder.

RENAME the interactions and quizzes.

Next open the new presentation, and remove the interactions and quizzes. After that, insert the interactions and quizzes, pointing to the newly named ones.

This last step is critical, because if you don't, the new presentation will still link to the original files.

I hope that helps!

Dave
