Hyperlink to pdf

Hello,
I have seen two articles about hyperlinking to a file type:
http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=1586
and
http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=907
Are these two ways to accomplish the same thing?
I have used the data/downloads/file.pdf method but as stated in other posts, the forward slashes reverse and then the links don't work. I publish on my local system (to CD so that I can check the links), then I send the Articulate package to my client and she publishes to SharePoint. Will the links work after she publishes to SharePoint?
Thank you!

Hi Mary.
Your best option is to only include the attachment in the Attachment tab and not as a link on a slide. The slash issue is a PowerPoint issue and there is no workaround for that behavior.
