Hyperlinking to attatchments

Jun 12, 2013

Hello.  I am working in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 and I have been trying to hyperlink to attachments.

What is happening is that I am having a problem l with hyper-linking attachments.  What I found is that I will hyperlink in a PowerPoint slide or an engage and publish it and the links work when I view the presentation.  When I close down the PowerPoint for the day and open it up the next day all the links are not working when I go to view it once I’ve published it.  The reason I know this is because I have added several links to the PowerPoint say the next day and went to publish it and when I view it, all the links I did the day before are not working, but the links that I just added that day work.

Can anyone help me with this problem please?

Hi Ruth and Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Hyperlinks you include in PowerPoint will be respected in your published output.  However, not all hyperlink options are supported in Presenter.  For more details, please refer to this article

Be sure to test your content in its intended environment: Web server, LMS, Articulate Online, or CD. If you are testing your content locally, publish for CD.  Testing hyperlinks in Preview is not supported.  You will need to Publish your presentation for proper testing.

Again, welcome and good luck with your project.

Thanks,

Leslie

Thanks Leslie. I am working in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010.

Yes I have published my output and the links I added worked.  But when I closed down my PowerPoint for the day and reopened it and added more links and then published my output the links I added the day before do not work because the data/downloads/ was changed to back-words slash \ but the links I added that day are working.

I did find something on this website in regards to the problem.  It suggested I change my Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation to  PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation which I tried and the links are now working even after I close down the document and re-open it.

If someone else that is working in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 has had any success in hyper-linking could they let me know how you did it.
