Hyperlinks going to the wrong slides
Jun 15, 2011
There are already a couple of posts on this but none with a solution that's going to work for me right now. Basically, a course that was previously working fine has just been edited, and now 4 hyperlinks on one particular slide go to entirely the wrong slides!
Have rebuilt and re-linked - but that's not worked. Have cleared browser cached - still not worked. Have published online to SCORM Cloud and LMS - and neither has that worked.
Really cannot see any reason as to why this is happening. Have changed links to site on transparent boxes too - still no joy.
Is there a recognised fix that anyone can share? Or is it a case of submitting the files for inspection?
Thanks

Hello Simon,
Have you check there are no links on the master slides?
Tracey
And if you create a link to one of those slides on a different slide,then copy and paste to the slide in question, do they still go to the wrong place?
I had that problem with a grouped object. I turns out that when I put the hyperlinks in, I did it twice. So when I went to change them or remove them, I only capurted one of the hyperlinks, leaving the original hyperlink in place.
(Imagine a text box and an image which have been grouped. I wanted to hyperlink that group to another page, but inadvertantly selected only the text. When I tested it, I clicked on the wrong portion of the group and it didn't work, so I went back and added the hyperlink again, this time to the image. Later, when changing the hyperlink, I only got one of them, not realizing there were two in place that I was randomly selecting. Thereafter, the hyperlink seemed to (also randomly) not work.)
Wow, three responses already!
@Tracey - there are no links on the slide layout in question (it's a unique slide that was working perfectly well for 2-3 months.
@Dwayne - I'll have a play with that.
@Lori - one of them is a grouped object but has been replicated about 100 times across other courses without any prohlems. The other three are text boxes that sit on top of an image.
Thanks all. Will keep dabbing, but need to break the course down into a manageable chunk because it's currently 72 slides and has a whole load of objects (and therefore takes 20 mins or so to publish each time).
