Multisco Articulate Package - Please Help!
Dec 13, 2011
Hi there,
I have created a multisco articulate package and cannot get the following two things to work:
* Navigation from one sco to the next -- ie... when you reach the end of one sco and click next, can you have the next button go to the next sco in the package?
* Forced Sequencing in SCORM 2004 3rd edition - I want sco 2 disabled until sco 1 sends back a completion. I used the sequencing features of reload and have not yet found a solution.
If you can help, I would greatly appreciate it! I would be glad to send you my scorm package.
Thanks!
Susan

Hi Susan. Does your LMS support course sequencing? If that's the case, the single SCO approach would be the best approach and make each SCO available only if a user completes the required previous SCOs.
My LMS does support curriculum creation (we use sum total), but we really don't want each LO to register as a course in the system. Instead we would like to upload a multisco package. I put one together using SSP and Reload that works great. But I haven't figured out the forced navigation or the auto navigation upon sco completion as of yet.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with those products so maybe someone else can chime in to see if that is even possible.
Justin, I am getting so, so close on this! I just need to figure out how to get one sco to automatically navigate to the next sco in my multisco package. I tried the method mentioned in this blog:
http://scormdev.blogspot.com/2011/01/articulate-sco-to-sco-scorm-2004.html#comment-form
And it didn't work.
Any ideas on other ways to do this?
Your help is greatly appreciated!!
Susan
Hi Susan,
Did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem and thought I found a solution using SumTotal's SCORM Extensions, but it doesn't work for content deployed from a Remote Content Server. It does work when delivering content from SumTotal's server so if that would help I could send you the code. We have a ticket opened with SumTotal, but haven't been given an answer yet.
Have a great day!
James
James, No, we never found a solution... if you hear anything from Sum Total, please share. As a temporary work around, we are placing a slide at the end of each sco telling the student to click the menu item on the left (in the TOC) to go to the next lesson.
Are you using Remote Content Servers?
No, I am just doing an upload to sumtotal as a scorm package. It is running on our sumtotal server.
Then you should be able to use the SumTotal SCORM Extensions to accomplish what you want. I can send you the code if you'd like to try it out. It requires some javascript and html programming so I don't know if you're familiar with that, but it's fairly easy code to understand.
Did you ever find a solution to this?
