Narration and Annotation not saving
Aug 03, 2015
I have seen a few threads related to this, but the answers don't mean much to me. My ppt file is updating with each change, but the ppta file is not updating. Similarly, anything related to PowerPoint (animation, text on slides, text in notes, etc.) is updating, but the Presenter info (narration, annotation, quizzes, etc.) are reverting back to old content. It's driving me crazy and I can't nail down a final version. Please help! I think I may have gotten a published version that works, but as soon as I close the ppt and re-open, it reverts back to the old content, making updates very time consuming because I have to fix old content every time.

Hi Alicia!
If you take a look at this article, it goes through some of the common reasons you may be experiencing this behavior.
I know that you mentioned you had already gone through some troubleshooting and articles, but I'm not sure what you may have tried already.
Thank you! This is better than what I found on my own searching, but I just went through the article, and none of the scenarios apply in this case. Is there anything else you can think of?
Are you experiencing the issue with a single project or in general?
If in general, I would advise a repair of your software and again, be sure that you are working locally on your C Drive.
If it's just one particular file, you may want to try the following solution:
You may be able to resolve PowerPoint file corruption in this manner:
Note: Articulate resources, such as audio and video, will need to be inserted again into the new presentation. You may need to export the narration from your original presentation, then import it into the new presentation.
If that doesn't do it for you, then I would advise that you reach out to our support team here so we can understand if something else is going on.
This is my first project, so I'm not sure if it's a general issue or specific to this project. I'll try these steps and follow up. Thanks!
Sounds great Alicia :)
