Playing a video across slides as an .swf in the logo

May 31, 2012

Afternoon all,

I know I am just missing something simple here, it always seems to work out that way.

We are trying to play a presenter across slides using a .swf in the logo.

I have used the two articles below to get started:

http://www.articulate.com/blog/how-to-customize-the-presenter-player-with-continuous-video/

http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=ap9&id=eu4d0qnejei8

My problem is that the video will not play at all.  I even made the video a bit larger than 240 x 240, you can see the player controls but nothing works.

Simplified Steps:

1)      Create new PowerPoint- file >save as > logovideotest

2)      Articulate Ribbon – Player Templates > Corporate Communications (Unmodified), close window.

3)      Articulate Ribbon – Presentation Options >Logos>  add > browse for .swf file, click OK.

4)      Articulate Ribbon – Publish , select Corporate Communications(Unmodified), select .swf file, publish to desktop.

5)      Open player.html, can see slide templates, corporate Communications template and logo is there, just the play/pause buttons on the .swf.

Okay for the .swf it was created on a blank AS2.0 single layer, using CS5. I published the player as Flash 6, this took a while since I had to convert the h.264 to something that would work with flash 6.  I embedded the .flv on a single layer, no scripting.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hey Dan,

Do you want to send us the files to see if we can replicate the issue? We'd be happy to take a closer look and work with you to get this resolved. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

I accidently subbmitted it twice, I forgot to put the link to the forums, and the info above. The file I sent uses a short video, not the actual presenter video, both were created the exact same way

I also tried using the, Display in presenter panel option, same result.

Also, displayed the .swf in the slide, still same results, however can not see the player controls and gives an error message:  A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly.  If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.  Do you want to abort the script?

I am starting to think it may be the .swf it self, AS is not my strong point.
