When I try to preview a slide, create an Engage activity or pretty much anything in Articulate, my PPT stops working. It saves the presentation like it is going to then launch articulate but never does. I restart my ppt (and computer) and ppt says that the Articulate ribbon has been disabled. Once I enable it (by following the directions provided) and try again, the process starts over again (and again, and again). What can I do?
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing so much trouble with the software. It sounds like PowerPoint doesn't want to function with the Studio pack. It may be a simple issue of the installation of PowerPoint or Office.
You might want to make sure you're using the 32 bit installation of Office.
Here's some additional information:
Microsoft released a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Office 2010. Microsoft recommends installing the 32-bit version, and Articulate Presenter '09 will only work with the 32-bit version. Presenter '09 also will not work with the Click To Run version of PowerPoint 2010. For more information, please review this article.
I put a short screencast together that will show you how to find the version you're using.
If you're able to confirm you're using the 32 bit installation and still experiencing this problem, please let us know.
Thank you for such a prompt reply! I followed your screencast and can confirm that I am using the 32 bit version of Office. Version 14.0.6123.5001. What can I do next?
I should also say that when I start a new presentation and try to add an engage interaction or do any of the things I was having difficulty with in my real presentation, it works just fine. Is something corrupted?!?
Thanks for getting back to me! Are you saying it only happens with one presentation, then? It's possible that something may be wrong with that particular presentation, if so. You might want to try to recreate some of that project in a new presentation and see if the same thing happens (freezing, etc.), just to test it.
But it is 350 slides long... Is there any way of checking to see if something is corrupt? I'll start by copying the content into a new presentation and see how that works.
(In the case, you'll be able to include your Presenter Package. This will allow us to take a look at your files and diagnose the issue.)
I'd also like to follow the progress of the case, if you don't mind. Please share the case number with me, either in this thread or in a private message.
I copied the slides into another blank presentation and that seemed to do the trick. I just had to re-preview the engage interactions and they all re-set. So I am good to go for now. Thank you for your help!

Hi Barb!
Thanks for getting back to me! Are you saying it only happens with one presentation, then? It's possible that something may be wrong with that particular presentation, if so. You might want to try to recreate some of that project in a new presentation and see if the same thing happens (freezing, etc.), just to test it.
Let me know how it turns out.
Thanks again, Barbara!

No problem, I completely understand about the project size.
If you'd like, we can take a look at the files.
First, create a Presenter Package.
After you've created the package, submit a support case with us.
