Presenter 09 not loading web project

Sep 08, 2016

It is now near 100 courses saved in 'My Articulate Projects'. Suddenly I can´t open any of the .html player in them. But the mobile player that I put inside the 'data' folder runs perfectly.

New projects will not load when I click 'view presentation'.

The bar starts loading but never progresses.

I updated Articulate 09 11, no help.

Should I cry? Please help.

Hi Myres- Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out here and share what's happening- no need for tears! :) Firstly, you mentioned adding mobile player to the "data" folder, so I just wanted to let you know that making any edits to the published output itself isn't supported.

If you're testing the unedited published output and still seeing these issues, what environment are the files published for and how are you testing them once published? If you open an Articulate Studio course from your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail. To properly test your published content and share it with others, make sure to upload it to the environment for which it was published. For instance, if you were to Publish for Web you'll want to upload the published output to a web environment, such as tempshare, to properly test it.

If you're viewing the published content in it's intended environment and still seeing this behavior, would you be able to share one of your presenter package file with us to take a look at and do some testing? You can add it as an attachment to a comment right in this thread. Thanks!

Hi Ali,

Thanks for helping me.

I realized that the problem is with 'Chrome'. When I open my projects which were published in 'My Articulate Projects' folder in 'My Documents', if I use Internet Explorer they open ok.

By some reason after a windows update a couple of days ago my "Chrome' try to open but never progress. So, I believe this is between 'Articulate 09 and Google Chrome (or other). I haven´t bought 'storyline or Articulate 13'. And yes, I use to send all my presentations to my server and they work fine from there when I open with any browser.

Another thing is when I publish a new project with Articulate 09 it shows the options 'view presentation', 'zip', 'ftp' or so. So, If I want to have a look at the presentation before sending to my server I hit the  'view the presentation' button. It runs the .player of the presentation folder in 'My Articulate Projects' folder, in my computer. Since my standard browser is 'Chrome' I am not able to see it anymore since a couple of days ago.  I will try to reinstall Google Chrome and I believe if it happens again there may be some kind of incompatibility between Articulate 09 and Google Chrome. I am glad I can see all my projects stored in 'My Articulate Projects' folder using Internet Explorer. So, no tears any more :-) But I had to change my preferred browser.

Actually I plan to make a DVD or CD for computers if that is possible out of these projects (they are published for web :-( . I lost my original .pptxs and I hope I can convert the web folders into cd folders. Hope I can do that, but this is another matter. I will look for instructions. Thank you so much for your attention and the support.

Hi Myres- Thanks for the added details here. Studio 09 is supported in Google Chrome, you can take a look at the system requirements here. You mentioned that everything is ok once uploaded to your server so the issue you're seeing is most likely because you're viewing the content from your local computer. This is known to cause erratic behavior. To test your course properly make sure to upload it to a web environment or server.

It won't be possible to convert your published files from "Publish for Web" to "Publish for CD" in order to burn them to a DVD without having the project files to republish from, unfortunately. Making any edits to the published output isn't something we can support.

Let me know if you have any further questions! :)
