Publish crash issue(Chinese training)

Apr 04, 2014

Hello, I’m working on Articulate presenter project and we have some issues with crashing  which was not happening before replacing a particular chinese character.(I'm using Articulate'13 update2)

This particular chinese character is “假冒”

I replaced “伪冒” with “假冒”, and the every slide which has “假冒” crashed while I’m trying to preview or publish. This training was published normally before replacing...

We had the similar issue before, and fixed it by converting the text to image. However, this word we have a problem with is a main subject of the training and it occurs 30+ times in each training.

When I was troubleshooting, I created a new file and put only “假冒” to check if I have any publishing issues but I was able to publish fine.

Please advise on how we can go about this problem.

I had the same problem with a Chinese course. My solution was to add the Chinese notes one slide at a time and publish until it crashed. Once it did crash, (about every other slide or so)I had to repair Office and in some cases repair Articulate. It took me about 8 hours to publish a 26 slide course. The same course existed in other languages and didn't have a single publishing problem. Another user also tried to publish and couldn't.

I read on another blog that Articulate is looking to have this fixed in Update 3.

Hi Jennifer,

The best way for us to verify that the issue you're experiencing is fixed in Update 3, is to share the file with us. There are some issues that I've worked with that are being fixed with the update, but it's difficult to confirm that you're running into the exact same issue.

If you're able to share an Articulate Package of the project here, I'd be happy to have the project tested. At that point, I can let you know whether or not it functions properly (after it's been tested by our Quality Assurance team), or I can submit an additional ticket regarding the issue for testing.

If the file's too large to share here (over 20 MB), or if you'd like to keep the project private, just let me know. We can discuss other options for sharing the file.

Best,

Christine
