published a podcast and sent it as an email, but I'm not really sure what the recipient is supposed to do. The email message that Articulate generates for me in Outlook tells the user to double-click the podplayer.html file. But since an mp3 file is included, why would they click on the html file?
Why wouldn’t they play the podcast with the mp3 file? If they plan on using it on an mp3 player, would they need all they need just the mp3? Or everything in the zip file?
Clicking the podplayer.html file will open the end-user's browser and play the file. If they have a default player (iTunes or Windows Media Player), they can also click the MP3 file directly and play it. It's entirely up to the end-user.
