Receive error when publishing

Apr 29, 2014

I went in to make a change to a file and when I tried to publish it I received an error.  I tried to publish is on a different computer and got the same error.  I then went back to the original file and made the change again and tried to publish and received an error again.  Now I try to publish the original file and get an error - I was able to successfully publish the file a couple months ago.  I updated before I tried to publish - is anybody else having the same issue?  It has me send an error report to Articulate every time I error out - not sure what I should do next.

Hi Stacy,

Can you provide a little more detail on this please?

First, can you tell us what you were attempting to change (content, animations, etc.).

Also, please share the error message you receive when you try to publish.

Also, please make sure that you're working with local project files:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
