I published a presenter file to the web (option) and some words of my powerpoint on the right hand side are cut off. I have not changed the powerpoint margins from their default settings. What's going on?
If a portion of each slide is missing or cut off in your published presentation, you may be using unsupported slide dimensions in PowerPoint. Please review the following article for more information and instructions for correcting this issue:
If the above link does not cure the issue, then the issue may be related to your DPI setting. Articulate products currently support 96 DPI. If your system’s DPI is set to 120, this can cause erratic behavior using Presenter ’09 and is not supported by Articulate. For more information, see the link below:
I am having this same problem. I have a slide that has two text boxes. Each box flies in from the bottom. The text in the box is cut-off during the animation; but appears correctly once the animation completes.
1. using the default PowerPoint dimensions
2. Checked my DPI and it is set as 96 as instructed.
3. Double checked each slide to make sure items are not extending beyond the slide borders.
I am using the "Peek in" animation. The Articulate documentation says that the Peek in is supported. However, it also says the Wipe animation is supported.
Try to add an additional object to the PowerPoint slide, and either make it invisible (by removing Fill and Line colors) or move it off the slide (so that it does not appear in the published presentation. Then, apply an animation to the invisible object, so that it is the final animation for the slide.
I am having the same problem and it is a mystery. DPI is correct. Page set up is correct but when I publish the right margin is cut off. It is most noticeable on my layered slides. (See below) I've tried adjusting the width a bit in my slide master - to no avail.
And BTW - this is the case whether I publish the presentation using "Slide only" or "Standard View". And oh yeah - My "Change View" in Slide Properties is blank on all slides - never touched it.
Thanks for the screenshots. I'd recommend sending us your files so we can take a closer look. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:
Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!
Looks like it was an issue the shadow in the shape that you used (the red background).
Did the below suggested workaround do the trick for you?
To workaround this issue, go to your Slide Master and select all the instances where you used the red object with shadow as a background. Right click the object and save as a picture file such as PNG. Remove the object and insert the object as a picture. This should resolve the issue you are experiencing.
Close the Master View and re publish your project.
Can I tell you how much I appreciate this post! I was trouble shooting a similar issue with a peer at work and today I decided to search the forums, I saved my background as a graphic, as suggested and it fixed the problem! Thanks so much.
I am having issues with the right side being cut off also. DPI and supported slide dimensions are correct. The slide master I am using is the Green Bulb by Tom Kuhlmann that is provided in the Downloads > powerpoint section : http://community.articulate.com/downloads/g/powerpoint/default.aspx
I do not have transitions between my slides that would be causing wipe animation issues.
What should I try to fix this issue. I am working on the trail version at this time.

I too am having the same problem with the Greenbulb template. The right portion of the slide is cut - off when I publish in Presenter 09. I am using Windows XP and PowerPoint 2007. DPI and slide dimensions are correct. What was your fix for Sara?
Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.

Hi Sara,
I was glad to see your post because I am having the exact same issues with the "greenbulb" template. I wrote to Peter inquiring about the fix he gave to you. If you can shed any light on this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
Below is what I sent to Peter at E-learning heroes.

In Sara's case, it was a font issue. Here's how support helped her resolve it:
The issue appears to be related to the font type used on the template. Apparently, the slide titles are using the “Bevan” font. If you do not have the font installed, the presentation will appear cut-off when published.
I downloaded and installed the Bevan font. After then, the presentation no longer appears cut-off.
On this light, you may either:
Option 1: Download and install the Bevan font. I got mine here: http://bit.ly/nmytHb
Option 2: On the Slide Master, apply a specific font type for the slide titles/headers. For instance, the Articulate font. Save presentation then preview to test.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply and excellent workaround. I substitute the Bevan font with Verdana and the Greenbulb template worked just fine.
Unfortunately, I am having another issue.
I want to use the bulbs to navigate to different sections and watched the tutorial on how to duplicate ad rename.
The template includes the navigation for the orange bulb. I used the method described in the tutorial to get the teal bulb to launch the teal section slide; I am unable to get the remaining bulbs (purple, red, and blue) to launch their respective section slides; these bulbs will only launch the orange section slide.
Again, I am using PowerPoint 07 with Articulate Presenter 09.
Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.

Whoops - sorry Peter....guess I had Tom on my mind since I have been listening to him on the Greenbulb tutorial.
Sure Would you like to send us your project files so we can take a look at what you have so far? First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload. Thanks!
I had a similar issue -- in the published content, it appeared that objects placed on the right edge of the screen had their edges cut off. After much hair-pulling (which I can ill afford), I discovered that in the (customer-supplied) Slide Master, that the creator had cleverly applied a background that was wider than the stage (I nudged the background down in this screen capture):
The background, of course, should have been 7.5 x 10. As a result, all the objects that I aligned to the right edge of the screen were actually placed off-stage.
This thread is a bit dated. Sounds like you were able to alleviate the issue you were experiencing by changing the font. I appreciate you popping in with an update. Looks like others in this thread had the same issue when the font was not installed.

Hi Catherine,
Are you using a wipe animation? If so, please review this article which outlines suggestions to resolve this issue:

Using Presenter 09 with Office 07.

Thanks to Peter and Jonathan who solved my problem. The solution worked! I'll remember the next time to just save it as a picture!!
