Showing Articulate in Adobe Connect

Oct 03, 2012

Hello comrades:
I have created a nice little course using Articulate '09.  It is mainly built off Powerpoint slides, but there are a couple of Engages and Quizmakers.

My company has just begun using Adobe Connect 9 (they updgraded us to that right after we bought it) and I was really hoping that we could "show" our Articulate courses and meeting slides inside of the Adobe Connect "Screen Share" pod.

While I realize that Adobe Connect only recognizes SWFs, I had found an article with some instructions of how to go into a Quizmaker file and change the name of the HTML to something simpler and then it should work. Well this doesn't work for me... Connect still does not even "see" any of the HTML files, only the SWF files.

It would be really nice if we could figure out a way to do this, maybe convince my company to upgrade to Storyline in the process if we can get Articulate '09 to work inside of Connect.

Does anyone know of a way?  Unlike Captivate, I see no option to "publish as SWF," and can't think of a way around this, but then... I am not a techny, just an I.D.

Thanks for any ideas or help that you might send my way.

Thanks, Joe, I did test that out and it will work, but it is not the perfect solution as Connect warns that sharing your screen is "bandwidth intensive," and this will be an hour long meeting.

I am also interested to know if anyone has found a way around this, it would be real nice.  Unfortunately, sharing the screen will not sell Articulate as being the "go to" tool to use for preparing content for Connect.

Thanks though

I hope you already found this information, but in case you did not it is located here: http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=gdez6v2sw1hh

You can host Articulate courses in Adobe Connect.  Here's how:

  1. Publish your Articulate content for LMS, and select AICC.
  2. When the Publish Successful dialog appears, click the Open Folder button.
  3. Rename the index_lms.html file to index.html.
  4. Zip all the published files (not the output folder that contains the published files).
  5. Upload the zip file to your Adobe Connect account.

Using the steps above, you'll be able to track your content in Adobe Connect.  However, if you want to track specific user responses to quiz questions, you'll need to add your content to an Adobe Connect course.

When you publish your files as LMS - SCORM 1.2, it will give you an option
after you publish to zip the files. THe file that Articulate storyline
creates when it zips the files, are exactly what you need to upload. if you
cannot republish and do this option, open your published folder, and select
all, then right click and zip these files. Upload this to adobe connect and
you should be good to go.
May God Bless You Today!
