Showing client how they can customize their Articulate skin
May 09, 2012
I really would like to borrow the Colorizer color scheme preview option that Articulate provides to their end-users in the Presenter product. The option I'm talking about is under "Player Templates->Colors->Edit Color Schemes". Here's the specific screen:
Does anyone know how to mimic this within your course in order to show your clients what can be customized in the presenter? I'm really just looking for the SWF file that is in the inner pane/slide area because my theory is, if I can obtain that it will communicate with my player (some tweaking?) to get the same effect. Am I wrong? Do I need to re-create this from scratch using the Articulate API? Is it not possible? Thanks in advance!

Hey Jason!
Check this out.
Well, that's exactly what I want with some added features but how do I go about achieving it?
Hi Jason.
I think your screenshot is your best bet as there isn't really a way to provide someone with the color scheme editor if they don't own the software. They could also download a free trial and check it out that way.
At a minimum, I think it could be done using the API if you have the programming skills. I might go that route unless you already know it's not possible?
Any of you programmers know if there's a method similar to this for setting the color properties? ArtAPI.GetColorInfo()
Presenter has an SDK, but that would not allow you to do something like that.
The link included above, how was that done? Couldn't it be done similarly in a published course?
You can take a screenshot like the one Pete pointed to and include that in a course, yes.
OK, so you're saying the link that he showed is really a screenshot using Flash controls & color overlays to give the same effect?
That''s not really a working version of the color editor. If you click around on it, it's not really that functional. You could share that link with someone so they could see what the different options do or you could add it to a presentation maybe as a web object. That being said, there isn't a way to take the colorizer and simply include it in a presentation.
Cool, I will either link to that OR create my own version with more functionality. Thanks for the dialogue!
No prob. If you come up with something you would like to share with the rest of the community, please do.
