Size limit to import Flash Movie into Presenter

Jun 21, 2012

Hi - I'm wondering if there is a size limitation for Flash movies. I have successfully imported all but one video into a course I'm working on. The problematic one is the largest at 38 MB. The others are between 2 MB and 25 MB and were inserted without any problems. Anyone know of this? Or have an idea of what I can do?

Thanks in advance for any help or information.

Hi Ann, welcome to Heroes!

The file size shouldn't be an issue. Are you getting an error message, or is it not playing back when you publish? Something else?

Have a look at our Flash movie best practices to see if there's something there that catches your eye. Otherwise, it would be helpful to hear a little more about the video, and how you're inserting it, and what you're seeing. Thanks!

Thank you. It's not that I'm getting an error message. It just doesn't load and hangs up the program. It's the only one of 30 videos that doesn't load and since it's the largest it seems like a likely conclusion it's the file size.

I've already looked at the best practices and didn't find anything useful. Thanks for your help.

Wanted to follow up. The support response was incredible. I really appreciate the prompt and helpful repies from Peter and the Articulate support. I resolved the issue by importing the 37 MB file into a blank template and from that presentation I was able to copy into the course. For whatever reason, it worked. Problem resolved. Thanks!
