I have a project that I want to change the slide titles in the menu bar, but when I change them in slide properties and save, they never seem to keep. I have retyped them, done them one at a time, and still they don't seem to keep. Any ideas?
Hmm, that does sound strange. Are you working with a file that isn't on your local hard drive, by any chance?
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
If you are working locally, can you try creating a new file, please? Does the same thing happen when you try to change the titles in the new file?
Also, do the titles update anywhere? For example, are they correct when previewing, but not updating when published?
Hi Christine. Nope, Not a long file name, is on the drive, Saved out to different names. Changed them one at a time saving and closing PPT each time. Replicated it on two different systems. Has to be in the PPT file then. I'm going to try to bring it into Storyline and see if it works there.

Hi Geo,
Sounds good! If you'd like, I'd be happy to test the PPT file as well, if you're able to share it.
Let me know if you have any luck in Storyline.
Thanks!
Christine
Hi Christine,
Yup, worked fine in SL. Not that it imported them any differently, but I was able to change the text and have it remain.
I think I'm just going to go this route for now and not spend any more time trying to get the PPT to work in Presenter.
Thanks!

Hi Geo,
Sounds good! Happy to hear that worked out for you.
If you change your mind and decide to try working with it using the earlier method and still have trouble, just let me know.
Have a great day!
Christine
