Slides designed using "Design Ideas" in PPT don't publish accurately

May 23, 2020

Hi, I have some slides that used Microsoft PPT "Design Ideas" feature, and those slides do not appear the same in the player as it does in the PPT.  (Attached are images to compare).

I noticed it always has the Master layout set even if the slide is designed differently.

Is there a setting I need to adjust in the player or during publishing so that the slide appear the SAME in both player and PPT?

Thank you for any help!

Hi Alissa,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you're running into! A few questions to dig deeper:

  • Do you see this while previewing as well, or only when publishing?
  • How are you publishing your PowerPoint? To the web, or to an LMS?

You mentioned that a master layout is also affecting the slide. We'd be happy to take a look at your PowerPoint file in closer detail to see if something is causing an issue. Feel free to connect with our support engineers, and they'll lend you a hand!

Hi- I have a similar problem when I receive slides from a client. The project will not publish if design suggestions are used in PPT. The only way I have found to fix this issue is to copy the  PPT  slides into a blank presentation to remove the formatting. Then I have to MacGiver it by using screen grabs etc to make it look the same.  For some reason Articulate is not able to publish these slides if " Design Suggestions" are used.   Any fix beyond what I've been doing would be helpful!  Unless I do this,  I receive an error in the publishing process.

Hi Shannon!

Thank you so much for attaching your project! I've tested your PowerPoint on my end, and I see an error message pop up when previewing slides 9,10,11, and 13. Were these slides added in a specific way?

Also, would you mind sharing which version of Presenter you're using? Is it Presenter 360?

I'm excited to see what the fix is!
