Technical issue with sound

May 26, 2016

I am recording narration inside a Powerpoint.  While I am recording I can check the sound fine.  The first time I save through about slide 10 of 48 it saved fine, and took me back where i left off.  I saved again at Slide 24.  Now the sound appears to be missing, as it doesn't show anything to play back when I go to each slide.  When I published it appears to be playing the sound based on how the slides present, but I still can't hear anything.  I am now on my third recording.  Any help please?  I am running out of time.

Hi Renee,

Are you using the record audio option on the Presenter tab vs. recording using the Powerpoint set up? Are you saving and closing the program or just saving and finding that the audio has gone missing? Can you play it when you preview the individual slides? You mentioned it appeared to be playing the sound but you can't hear anything- so how do you know that you're seeing where the audio should be located?

Can you confirm that you're working on local project files as described here? If  you're still seeing the missing audio you'll also want to check through the troubleshooting steps here.

Ashley,

1. I am working with a local copy

2. I am using the Record Narration button within the Presenter Add In

3. I can hear and replay the sound for each slide until I close the presentation and re-open it.

4. I am using the Save and close button inside the Record Narration window

5. The slides have animation that I am coordinating with when recording my narration, and when I preview the slide or publish it appears that it is advancing according to the narration, but I can't hear anything in either case.

6. I have tried all the trouble shooting steps.

7. My company is requiring us to use this software, but it won't help if this sound issue can't be resolved.

Thanks,

Renee

Hi Renee,

First off, I wanted to let you know that responding via email includes your signature here and you're welcome to edit the post to remove that information if you'd like.

If you've already gone through all the troubleshooting steps as I mentioned and are still having difficulty we'll want to take a look at your Presenter package. You can share it with us here in the community forums or send it along to our Support team here.
