Track course completion by number of slides with no quiz

Jul 14, 2014

Hello Community: I want to create a very short Articulate Studio 09 presentation that contains a link to a recorded training course, which learners need to watch. There is really no quiz associated with this course, so the entire presentation will be like 4 slides long. If I use the LMS tracking setting of COMPLETE/INCOMPLETE, without adding a Quiz, will the SCORM then report a COMPLETE status back to our LMS if viewer watches all 4 slides?

I had a version with a quiz in it but the quizzes were failing to open, would like to simplify if I can as the only real requirement is to watch the movie.

Thank you...

Hi Rainy,

This is certainly something you can do. What you should see, when the learner reaches the final slide and closes the course, is a "Completed" status - but this may depend on how your LMS displays this content.

Here's a really quick example I created, using Studio '09, tracking by number of slides viewed (3 of 3) and COMPLETE/INCOMPLETE:

Example for Rainy

As you'll see, when you finish viewing all 3 slides and exit the course the "complete" status will update. You won't see a "satisfaction" rate or score, because there is no quiz.

Let us know if you have any trouble with this, or any questions!

Best,

Christine
