Web-stored Video

May 22, 2013

Hi,

I am working on a project right now that requires me to use .wmv instead of flash format. To do this, I was able to push the videos to a web server. Now I have the link and I used the insert web object to the slide. It works! However, regardless of my option to have the video display in the slide, the video is still opened in another window. Am I missing something?

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Pau A.!

Quick question - how are you viewing the project when the video opens in a new window? Try to make sure you aren't testing the course locally.

If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
If that doesn't help, can you share a little more information on what's happening? Does the video appear in an entirely new web browser window, or does it appear to be hovering over the presentation?
Thanks!
