Correct answers marked incorrect - sporadic users; not able to replicate

Mar 15, 2016

Hello,

We rolled a course out to about 950 people. About 350 have completed the course. It requires a 100% pass. A handful of users have had their answers marked incorrect when they were correct. I can't replicate their issue, but I have talked through their answers and know they are correct. We have the settings to Submit All at once and allow a review and a retake of the test.

What could be causing this issue? Any ideas on length of questions or other problems? What should we tell users? (I am thinking about clearing their cache and restarting their computers. Any other ideas?)

Thank you,

Andrea

Hi Andrea.  Thanks for raising this issue.  We have some documentation here about correct answers being marked incorrectly in HTML5 output when answers are submitted all at once.  Are you able to identify what devices and/or browsers your "incorrect" learners are using?  Also, do you have your course configured for Articulate Mobile Player viewing?

Our QA staff is aware of this issue.  I'll include your discussion in their record, and we'll be sure to update you as soon as we have more information.

Thanks for the feedback. Our learners are generally using IE 9 or 10 (old I know...) I have recommended to the learner that they take the course again using Google Chrome, and that has been a successful resolution. My guess is that there is some kind of caching issue, but it is easier to tell them to use a new browser than walk through clearing the cache.  HTML5 is not a requirement for us yet, but I prefer to build for the future. It only has impacted a small percentage of users.

Hi everybody!  I’m so happy to tell you that we’ve just released Update 9 for Studio ’13.  It addresses the issue where using "submit all at once" in the HTML5 output would cause the quiz answers to be scored incorrectly. You can download the update here and see the release notes in full here.  Once you've downloaded the update, you want to republish your file.

Thanks for helping us make this improvement!
