We have a number of courses and quizzes set up in Moodle 2.6 which have been working fine until the last few weeks, the finish button on all of the quizzes no longer works in Internet Explorer 11. They do work in Firefox though. At first I think it might need a flash upgrade which has done nothing to resolve the problem.
Have not seen any documentation on this anywhere online. I've posted this in the Moodle forum and now I'm posting here. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?
It's possible it may be either due to the web browser, or the LMS. Have you tried testing with a different web browser, or tried uploading to a different LMS? If you haven't already, you could try uploading to SCORM Cloud.
I created a quick standalone Quizmaker '13 quiz, enabled the "Finish" button and published for LMS. I uploaded to SCORM Cloud for testing and the "Finish" button works properly for me in Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17031.
If you'd like to test using the quiz I created, just click on the following link:
Please let us know if you see any improvement by using the quiz I shared, or if you're able to test in a different web browser, or possibly a different version of the web browser. This would help us narrow the issue down.
The test quiz you posted on SCORM Cloud worked fine in IE 11.
My dilemma is that I'm not the E-Learning Developer here so I actually don't use Articulate. The quiz was made from Quizmaker '09 so I don't really have any control over the file itself.
All I know is a few weeks ago everything was fine, then when the site was upgraded to Moodle 2.6.2 - we think something happened there or with IE 11 auto upgrades.
Basically our place is building online courses for another agency who has their own IT policies in place. They don't have Firefox or they won't allow it to be installed so we're trying to think of solutions in the meantime. Right now the users are taking screenshots and sending them to us at the end of their quizzes.
Ahh, that does make things a little difficult - but understandable. In either case, it's hard to determine if it's specific to the file, if there's no access to it. I realize you don't have access to the installation, but if the developer is able to share the project file, we could also test it. If not, and it was made some time ago, it gets a little trickier.
If you have the LMS published output, you could attempt loading it into SCORM Cloud yourself. If you do so, you could find out if the issue is specific to the upgrade of Moodle.
Also, out of curiosity, have you reached out to Moodle's support team on the issue?
I was wondering if you ever found the cause for this? This is something that we've recently experienced too, just in IE. I was going to ask on the Moodle forums too...
This thread is a bit older, so I'm not certain if John is still subscribed. On his profile you could use the "contact me" button to reach out to him directly. Have you already gone through the troubleshooting steps that Christine previously mentioned such as testing it in SCORM Cloud to help narrow down a specific issue within Moodle?

hi John,
you'll have to edit each scorm activity setting and set ForceCompletion parameter to Yes.
that should work. otherwise some work at the code of your moodle scorm player shall be done...
hope it helps
Thanks for sharing that suggestion, Stefano :) Hopefully that will work for John.
