Help! Quiz score results are not posting in Taleo LMS

Mar 03, 2015

Why are user quiz scores not posting in my LMS.  Oracle (Taleo) states the eLearning is not sending quiz results to the LMS.  It is only capturing Completed/Incomplete.  How do I get the quiz score to pass through to the LMS?   (80% is a required passing score. )

Thank you,

Brent

Hello Brent,

Many LMSs track both a completion status and a success status. To report both statuses, choose either Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed when publishing Storyline content. Completed/Incomplete and Completed/Failed report only the completion status.

Also, you may want to test the course in the SCORM Cloud to see how it is reporting there.

I changed report tracking from Complete/Incomplete to Passed/Incomplete, and this resolved my problem for two out of three courses.  The third course is showing 100% as the quiz score for every user showing complete, which indicates it is not passing through the correct quiz score (for example no one has scored 85%).  Any ideas on what else I might be overlooking?  Also, I have seen posts about SCORM cloud to test the quiz results before uploading to the LMS.  Could you point me to instructions on how to test it to verify true quiz results are posting?  Thank you.

I uploaded my course to SCORM Cloud, and played all the slides.  When I got to the slide containing the Quizmaker Quiz it did not launch, and the NEXT button shows to be locked.  Is this indicating the quiz is not launching in the LMS?  My intent was to verify the quiz score will pass through to the LMS.  Curious, Is there a way to verify that without sitting through the entire presentation to get to the quiz at the end?  Thank you.

Hello Brent,

Thanks for sharing the file. I did see that the quiz slides were locked. After setting them to Free, you could navigate into the quiz slides. Also, I ran this through the SCORM Cloud, and after completing the Slide 5 quiz, the reporting sent back a Score and a Completion status.

Could you test the output here?

Brent McKinley

OK, so I will remove the lock and that will allow me to access the quiz.  Curious, how did you jump directly to the quiz without having to review the entire presentation? I am guessing I did it wrong and sat through 70+ slides to get to the quiz at the end.

And we were capturing a score of 100% for everybody, and that is what made us suspicious of a problem.  How can I fail at least one question to make sure it is recording the less than perfect scores.  For example I need to see the 85% and 90%'s too.  Are you saying that is not necessary to test further because the 100% was in fact the actual score and not simply a place holder to show the course was completed?  Also, do you have instructions, so I can see how to launch a test track in Sandbox?

I really appreciate your help.  :-)

Hello Brent,

The slide you had the tracking set to was slide 5, so I only watched until I submitted that quiz, then closed out of the course. I happened to get the both right but if you get on incorrect it will show as 50%, however this quiz is also set up to have unlimited attempts, so they could keep trying until they got a 100%

To test the file, you would just need to log into SCORM Cloud and load the zipped file up.

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem where my SCORM is only showing pass or fail on the LMS (Oracle Taleo) but not the actual score.  Tried to implement Bret's sugegstion but this is 4 years old and the current Qiuzmaker does not have this option. Please help, how do i solve this?

thanks

Welcome, Keke!

Sorry to hear you're at this roadblock. With your permission, I'd love to help test your .quiz file in SCORM Cloud, an industry-standard tool for testing SCORM output, to see how the reporting looks there.

If that works for you, you can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading this upload link. I'll let you know what I find, and will delete it after troubleshooting!
