one-time access to quiz

Sep 03, 2012

Hi,

I would like to use A-Quizmaker  to evaluate  knowledge level of each client.  It means that a client is restricted to view or access  the quiz only once and can not see the result right away.  The results will be reviewed by the person in charge.

As far as I see the software, I could not find the feature to control the number of access on both on A- Quizmaker and  AO. Does anyone know how ?

Hey Hozaki,

1. To allow access to the quiz just once:

You need publish the quizmaker to Articulate Presenter.

Insert the quizmaker file in powerpoint. Select the properties button that appears at the bottom of the slide. Under the quiz properties tab, see the fourth option, 'User may attempt quiz:'. In the drop-down next to the option, select 'Just Once'.

2. To restrict clients from reviewing the quiz:

Click the Pass Result button on the Quizmaker toolbar. Uncheck (deselect) the option, 'Allow user to review quiz'.

Hope this helps.

Additionally you may also refer to the following links for a detailed step list on the above two procedures.

Hi

Thank you for your suggestion.

The quiz I want  is more like a final exam which a user can do it only once and can not review the result after finishing the exam. As you suggested,  I set up the option "Just once" in Presenter and tested. Then I found that  I was able to do the quiz only once as long as I was within the Presenter. It means if I logged-out and retried the quiz , I can still try the quiz for the second time. Even if 2) is applied, I can activate the quiz through HISTORY or VIEW  on the content list. What can I do?

Hi Suman,

Sorry that I am a little confused now. As I am new to AO  I do not fully understand every feature in the package. I am not using LMS.

What I did was that I created a quiz  with A-Quizmaker and published it to A-O.  I just want a user to access a  quiz only once and do not want him/her to see the results. I think it  will be good if the number of access can be assigned per user.I hope this will clarify my situation.

Thanks for your support.

Hello, R!

As mentioned above, you can specify the number of attempts that a user is allowed for quizzes that are embedded in your Presenter '09 presentations. Here's how.

Unfortunately, limiting the number of attempts for presentations, standalone quizzes, and standalone interactions is not currently supported in Articulate Online. This article has more information.

You can use our Feature Request Form to route your suggestions and requests directly to our product development team for review.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

In the Publish dialog box, you can track your quiz results by clicking on the Reporting and Tracking button and selecting options available under, 'Track using quiz results'.

I believe you will be publishing the quiz over an LMS. In that case, the scores get would recorded just once.

My SME requestor does not want a participant to be able to re-enter the quiz if they leave it or finish it. I have found that it only records answers up to the question the person was at before leaving...is there any feature that when asked "do you want to return to where you left off?" it will prevent the person from being brought back into the quiz? I have set the attempt feature to Just Once. If that is not possible, I just need to add additional instructions so the user knows that if they leave they are done! Thanks everyone!
