Quizmaker: can I prevent use of insert command (control-v)

Nov 15, 2015

I would like to use Quizmaker in class, partly for some essay questions.  Students would take the exam in class, on their computer.

How could I prevent them from searching their hard drive or the internet and just pasting in what they found?

I want to prevent use of the paste command, so they have to write the essay in class.

Thanks.

Hi, Howard -- Thank you for your question, and the topic of preventing cheating or using the internet via multiple open browser windows at once is a topic that has been posed a number of times. While I am not aware of a way to stop the use of copy/paste in Quizmaker (perhaps someone would know some sort of JS code you could use, although that is not something we could support), you may want to check out these threads for additional insights on the topic of dishonest course completion as a whole.
