Separate individual quiz(zes) from group

Jun 25, 2012

I'm relatively new to Quizmaker but here's what I did and here's the problem. I started my quizzes in Quizmaker and they show up as Group 1 ( I did not realize that until I had written 27 quizzes)   When I imported to Powerpoint I only get the first quiz and not the other 26 quizzes. How can I separate?  When I start a quiz from Powerpoint it assigns a name to the quiz and I can find them as .quiz files and move them if I want to "add existing"  but not so as a group, there are no individual "names" for each quiz.  Please let me know 1) how to separate 2) how I should've done this in the beginning to avoid. Thank you.

Hi Mike. I don't quite understand how you have your quizzes set up. Do you have only one quiz file or 26 separate quiz files? You can remove questions from a quiz and do a Save as to save the .QUIZ file as different files. It's a little unclear to me, though, what the actual issue is so if you can clarify that will help us understand how to help.

It is a little difficult to explain.  I created 26 different quizzes but only on quiz file was created. I assumed this has something to do with the fact that they are in a group (group 1) which I didn't realize was happening or I wouldn't have created a group.  I have not been able to separate each individual quiz from the group to do  a "save as" .  When I search for the extension ".quiz" in windows only the single file is found.  It opens and all 26 quizzes are there but I can not move them to powerpoint or do a "save as" of each individual quiz.

Hi Mike.

Do you mean you have 26 individual questions? You can't have more than one quiz in a .QUIZ file. If you click the Articulate icon in the upper left hand corner you can do a Save as so you can remove the questions you don't want and do a Save as or you could import questions from your quiz to a new quiz file:

I must be using the the wrong term.  Yes I have 26 questions in one group quiz. I want to save each of the 26 as an individual question, each with their own file name.  I don't want to import new questions into the (that) group, I want to export them out and into a powerpoint file as individual questions.

Hi Mike,

So you want 26 separate quizzes, all one question each, and you want to insert all 26, one-question quizzes into a Presenter course? To do that, you would just use the By individual question section of the article Justin linked to above, and then insert each quiz into your Presenter course. Could be a painstaking process...

Mike.

Quizmaker has a Save as function so you can remove all of the questions except one and do a Save as and keep doing that until you have 26 separate quizzes. You need 26 separate quizzes to do what you are trying to do. You could also use the blank slide feature in Quizmaker and just create your whole thing in Quizmaker or you could use Storyline. If you do them all as separate quizzes in Presenter, you would only be able to track one of the quizzes so you have to consider what you are trying to achieve and then figure out what the best way would be to achieve that.

Hello E-Learning Heros,

I have a quick question.....haven't been able to figure this out on my own.....

I have two groups with a total of 17 questions.
Each group is randomized

Group 1 has questions 1 - 11

Group 2 has questions 12 - 17

I am not able to figure out how to limit question group 2.

I want only a max of 2 questions to ever be used on a quiz.

How do I limit this?

Thanks a bunch!

Anita
