Articulate Replay Published Bitrate

Jul 28, 2015

A couple questions regarding Articulate Replay.

  1. What is the maximum encoded bitrate Replay publishes mp4 video?
  2. Is there a way to change/increase the encoded bitrate when publishing?

Situation, pulled a mp4 video with encoded total bitrate of 2207kbps into Replay then Published.  This published Replay total bitrate is now 518kbps.

Thanks, Scott.

Hi Scott,

I heard back from our team, and they did mention that we do conduct some compression of the video on publish, so a difference in the bitrate is expected - but that difference seems particularly steep. If you're able to share the original video here, we'd like to take a look at it and see what may have caused it - you can also send along to us here (please reference this thread).

Also, there is not currently an option to remove the reduction in bitrate that occurs, but it's definitely something you're welcome to share in the form of a feature request!

Ashley,  Thanks for the information.  Due to subject matter unable to fwd, but I have submitted a feature request - a user option that will allow the user to choose, or decide, whether or not to compress the file at Publish.  It would nice to have the option; view both results; choose which best fits the situation.  In my instance, I would much rather have a higher quality video as an end result, over a smaller file size.  Once again, thanks for the info and links.
