Do I use replay or storyline

Aug 04, 2016

Hi All,

I'm quite new to articulate and have storyline and replay.  We are creating a storyline project which will host our internal meeting info.  These are powerpoint slides and sound recorded on my phone.  I then put them together, making the right slide appear along the time line of the audio.   I was doing this in storyline but now I'm wondering if I should be doing this in replay and then adding the published content to storyline.  I guess I'm worried about making my storyline project a bit unwieldy as it is hosted in wordpress, not straight to a website.  So wondering which is the better of the two options as there is essentially a new "video" each week. I guess I'm making an internal youtube training video type project.

I just want make sure I'm using the tools in the right way, so any guidance would be a huge help.

Cheers

Karyn

Hi Karyn,

The big thing is - there isn't a right or wrong way to do this. A few thoughts to guide you...

...does your final publish need to only be a video? than create it in Replay as it's going to publish to MP4.
...do you need to have interactive elements also include? Create in Replay and/or Storyline and include interactive elements directly in Storyline.
...could folks want to stop the course and close their browser, but pick up where they left off later? Use Storyline to do the final publish and include a "resume" option as it'll track them based on browser cookies.
...do you find one easier to work in than the other? Go with what's easiest for you!

Hopefully others in the community can share a bit more information or ideas on what they've accomplished or why they choose one path over the other.
