I understand that the default for image duration in replay in 5 seconds. I have some images that I want around 1 second, but currently I can only get them down to around 3 seconds by dragging the left/right side to shorten them. Can they get down to 1 second? Am I missing something? I keep clicking and trying to drag them, but they won't get any shorter. I even separated the images to have some wiggle room to shorten them and I still can't get them any shorter.

I don't see that it's currently possible to shorten image duration beyond 3 seconds, although this would make an excellent Feature Request.
