A narrative based quiz game

Jul 21, 2017

Would like to create a single player narrative "game" where players unlock more content using points accumulated through answering questions.

I have never made a project with users, and need some guidance on:

  • How to make questions available based on the time of the day in real life.
  • How to save responses from different users onto an excel sheet.
  • How to make a login system. This is a broad question, so any resources provided would be great. I would like a way for people to continue their progress on any device, and for their submitted responses to be linked to them.

Student tracking, login and response logging is generally handled outside of Storyline, in a Learning Management System (LMS). Search these forums and you'll find some of the popular. Do note, each their own quirks.

Regarding questions connected to time of date, you could set up branches based on a numeric variable that is set via scripting to the student's computer clock. Key words to search the forums include "script" "clock" "variable" and "SetVar". Best of luck
