Ability to Adjust Marker Buttons?
Aug 15, 2013
Howdy!
I am trying to add a marker feature in one of my projects and I am noticing there is not a way to adjust the size or direction of the marker (say for example flush it to the right, left, top or bottom). Is there a way to do this "without" having to go through the rig-a-ma-role of making a custom one with layers.
I am making a timeline with over 10 objects on it and layering would require boat loads of graphical layers to achieve the same effect.
Thanks

Hi Melissa and welcome to Heroes!
Are you looking to modify the text within the marker? It doesn't have a normal "format text box" feature - but if you look at the image included below, I can highlight the text and then the normal text editor appears. I'm then able to justify right. Let me know if you're thinking about something else.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for the post!
Its not the text I want to change, its the position of the box itself.
From my example below, I would love to be able to swing the box around to the opposite side, as well as up an down - as my design is causing it to cut off the effect.
Edit: Thanks Phil - I was playing with it and couldn't get that to move right, and now I see it was just a case of user error.
Ah, now I understand Melissa.
Unfortunately there isn't a default way to move the accompanying box. Some of the markers (especially the arrow ones) will place the box in a different location depending on where the arrow is pointing, but that doesn't help with the example you've shown.
The box can be in one of eight positions just drag it around like a clock hand
ooohhhhhh!...lol...duh. :-P
I kept wanting to grab those little active handles we have been so conditioned to use all these years - versus just grabbing the middle of the box and dragging it around.
Yup....never would have done that. YOUR THE MAN PHIL!
Thanks for this post, folks! I had the same reaction as Melissa: ohhhhhhh, lol...duh! I would never have tried that simple solution, either.
I like when these older threads are still assisting users. Glad you were able to get the assistance you needed here Sharon and thanks for popping in to share.
