Ability to Advance Through Slides without waiting for them to play

Jun 10, 2014

I am new to Storyline and plan to take some hands-on classroom training in the near future.  Right now I have inherited some existing courses and they will not allow the Next button to be active until the entire slide has played.  For testing purposes, I need to be able to remove that requirement so the testers can click through rapidly (and not have to wait) to get to the test.  Is there a "global" setting that I can use to take care of that?

Hi Leslie and welcome to Heroes!

You'll want to look into a few things. First, each slide has the ability to be set up to advance by user or automatically within the slides properties. It's a slide by slide setting - although while in Storyview you could select multiple slides and adjust their properties together. There is additional information about that here.

Since you mentioned the user has to wait until the slide plays for the next button to be active, it's possible that the previous course creator set up to based on this method - which then you'd need to remove those conditions on your next trigger. I'd also remove the extraneous variables and such, just to not clog up how your trigger panel looks.

Hope that those help - and if you need anything else, please let us know!
