Ability to delay movement to another slide based on variable attainment.

Nov 12, 2020

Hi, I hope someone can figure out what I am doing wrong here. I have a scene in a larger story that recaps what to look for in suspicious emails. I've used variables to determine, based on total points, which custom slide to end upon. the problem is on the last question, it flies directly to the custom slide without giving the user the opportunity to read the feedback message. Can someone please tell me what I am missing or what I have done incorrectly?

I'm not at a place right now where I can look at your project, but if it flies instantly to the ending slide, there is probably a trigger that jumps when the timeline begins.

You could set it to jump when a certain point is reached in the timeline. Personally, I don't like it, because I am really poor at guessing how long somebody else will need to read something.  I much prefer to put a Continue button on the slide, and use the clicking of it as the "when" part of the jump triggers.

Hi Walt,
There are 5 questions that the user must take. Only on the final question does the user need to move via a variable to a custom results slide.  They answer the question, are directed to a feedback slide, and from there, to the custom results. What is happening on that slide only is that the feedback slide appears for a brief moment and the user automatically moves to the custom results. That is what I am trying to delay. I would like them to read that last piece of feedback. i tried adding a trigger to jump to slide X when total points =10 and if state of button 1 (custom next) is visited but that did not stop the auto-advance.
