Able to click Disabled objects using the keyboard

Jul 12, 2021

Hello,

I am working on developing an accessible course using storyline 360. I have a slide with a series of tabs which get enabled in a sequence as the user clicks the 1st tab. However, when I previewed the slide I was able to select the tabs which were in a disabled state. Although I was not able to click it when I was using the mouse. Please guide me as to what can be done to prevent this from happening.

Hello Royston,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your project files.

We have an open issue where disabled buttons and shapes can be accessed by keyboard navigation if one or more of the states contained more than one object. Does this sound like what you are experiencing as well?

I've added this conversation to our report so that we can share updates with you here. In the meantime, if you limit the number of objects inside the base shape for states, you can avoid this issue.

Hi Royston,

Great news! We just released another update for Storyline 360 and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here

The item you'll be interested in is where disabled buttons and shapes can be accessed by keyboard navigation if one or more of the states contained more than one object.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
