Accessibility issue with multiple choice question feedback

Jul 16, 2020

Not sure when it happened, but navigating to the feedback for a standard multiple choice question with the correct/incorrect layers stopped working correctly using the virtual cursor with a screen reader recently.

If you look at a version published with Storyline 360 3.36, you'll see that using the down arrow after submitting the answer gets you to the feedback. See here: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/3f4c9737-046f-4f2e-b0cd-23b208f6faaf/review

If you look at a version published with Storyline 360 3.41, though, you'll see that using the down arrow after submitting the answer takes you through the player controls. You cannot get to the feedback without navigating backwards and using the up arrow. See here: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/8c2ca704-b836-44b9-baa3-f4bf2f98e278/review

This is problematic as a learner shouldn't need to navigate backwards with their virtual cursor to get to new content. Was this change intentional? Is there a workaround? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Hi Erich!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

After testing this out on my end, it looks like this is only happening in Storyline 360 Update 41 (Build 3.41.22450.0). The feedback layers are working properly in Storyline 360 Update 40 (Build 3.40.22208.0). I've logged this bug with our team so that we start investigating.

I'll keep you updated in this discussion! Great catch!
