Accessibility keys

Dec 01, 2023

I need to build a course in Storyline 360 which includes an interactive video. When people click the mouse a variables change and this helps grade the course, I am trying to add the same process to using the 'Enter' key as well but all the triggers state the learner needs to click the screen first, or click something eg an object. The whole point in needing this function is to make the course accessible for people who cannot use a mouse. Am I adding the triggers incorrectly to the course? What is the work around for making this course accessible so learners can use only the keyboard without the need to touch the mouse?

The rest of the course works fine, but this one part is holding up the project, any hints, tips, advice would be great.

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your quick reply, The learner will see instructions prior to entering the video so yes, they will need to press the enter key prior to accessing the video. The video is on a new slide after the instructions. The video starts playing as soon as the slide opens which means there is no way for the learner to operate anything prior to needing the 'Enter' key - which is used essentially as a hazard perception type video.

I am curious by your reply, please can you explain a little more on how this would work? Or if you an think of another work around for this issue.

Thank you,
